New dance added – Carrowbeg Set

The latest dance to be added to DanceMinder is an Irish set dance recently composed by Pat Murphy and presented during Connie Ryan Set Dance Weekend in January 2016.

The Carrowbeg Set has some reasonably simple but fun to dance moves and the third figure will no doubt remind you of the Lancers set.

Take a look for the notes and links to videos provided by Pat.

Dance Of The Week – Templebeg Set

The Dance Of the Week for this week is a fairly complicated set recently composed by Pat Murphy (yes, that Pat Murphy) in honor of his home region of Templebeg.

The Templebeg Set has some intricate and in some cases, rapid, movements that are fun to watch and we expect, fun to dance.

DOTW: Boyne Set

The Dance Of The Week for this week is the Boyne Set. Click through for notes for this dance. This lovely set was first taught by Seamus O Mealoid at the Galway Bay Set Dancing Festival in the Clybaun Hotel, Galway in November 2008. Seamus taught the set again at the Westport Set Dance Weekend at the end of November in 2008.

DOTW: Sneem Set

The Dance Of The Week for this week is the Sneem Set. Click through for notes for this dance.  There aren’t any videos to be found online but we hope to have some up soon.  Many thanks to Pat Murphy for permitting us to upload our videos of the Sneem set from the 2009 Joe Mooney week!  You’ll find links in the Videos section on the Sneem Set page.
