Another version of the Gay Gordons commonly danced at Scottish gatherings.
Dancers start with the lady to the gents right, both facing counter-clockwise in a large circle formation.
Hold left hands in front and right hands on the lady’s right shoulder.
Music commonly used is Scotland The Brave or The Gay Gordons. Any 2/4 or 4/4 march will do.
Dance forward - counter-clockwise Dance forward four steps, beginning on the right foot.
|2||Pivot, dance backward Pivot on the spot and dance backward four more steps (5-8), still moving counter-clockwise around the room.||2|
|3||Dance forward - clockwise Dance forward, this time moving clockwise, four steps, beginning on the right foot.||2|
|4||Pivot, dance backward Pivot on the spot and dance backward four more steps (5-8), still moving clockwise around the room.||2|
|5||Turn the lady Release left hands and raise right hands above the lady's head. She pivots on the spot while the gent sets in place.
