Foraer A Neaintin

Category: Irish Set
Description:

This set is also known as the Connemara Jig Set and some references call it Freres Nantais and was revived by Seamus O Meoloid. It was originally danced as a half set. Notes originally added from Toss The Feathers by Pat Murphy, reproduced with permission.

The “hug” swing is done with the right hand on the partner’s waist and left hand holding their right elbow or upper arm.

2 Lead Around Tug & Swing Each gent brings his right hand clockwise over his partner's head, leaving it on her right shoulder and taking her left hand in front too. All lead around anti-clockwise. On the last bars, the gent brings his arm forward over the lady's head as they face each other, holding both hands. They both dance one step back, pulling against each other; then they take one step forward, pulling each other forward (the tug) and swing. They hug each other as they swing.  Another way to think of this movement is the "tug and hug." 16
